Starting a Rental Car Business in 2024
Used car leases is terrible but for new is great
Why all that hate, those tools are great for people that are studying in that industry or starting their business. If you dont like what you see make your channel and buy those expensive tools
Mean while at the coffee shop drive thru , same people are purchasing $10 coffees each day with a credit card.
As an ex-mechanic, I can verify what you say is correct with one caveat: the shortage is so bad, I won’t let a dealer touch my cars UNLESS I have to. I have my scanner, tools, etc and do my own work. If a dealer touches my car, I go through what I can from the FSM and document everything that’s done wrong… which is A LOT because warranty work is a straight up poverty maker for mechanics because they only get 50% their normal flat rate. It’s BS designed to fail. If you want a car to last, do it yourself. By the time you get to a major repair, you’ll have the knowledge, confidence and experience to handle most of it. Pick a brand and stick with it, then work on other cars within your wheelhouse. I retired 15 years ago for a different career (physical therapy) and still make around $1500/mo on the side taking care of the cars of friends and families. I recommend big jobs to a buddy I know that does good work and take care of the maintenance and smaller repair gigs. I also sell a few cars per year I get from auction.
Just save up and buy a used car for 5-10 k and you won’t have high insurance headaches and car note
I work 30 years in field and also got a college degree and became a state inpector and Master ASE tech. I also earned 2 Honda Master Certifications and later became a certified Instructor at a local automotive school and finally retired. Todays tech's should be earning $30-$45.00 per hour yet many only get $20-$28 flat rate! I've been to many shops and these techs spend $30-$60,000 in tools. The shops charge $170 and up on labor rates. Many shops only offer low cost HMO's.
i think the real problem with renting an ev is range, most people rent cars to go long distance, ev’s are great for city driving, i have a model 3 great car, but if i am going for a road trip longer than 3 hours i would rent a hybrid or a regular car.
Don’t go to JD byrider
I think the used car prices will go up because dealers have been sitting on inventory during these high interest rates. They’ll need to increase prices when rates are low and demand is high again to make that money back. This is why I bought my car at a higher interest rate last month. Will refinance it when rates drop because hey at least when used car prices go up again I’ll have a little bit of equity for trade in purposes. Sometimes the best time to do something isn’t when it looks like the textbook perfect scenario.
Of course they're crap, Most Successful USA business owners/scammers are children of colonizers.
I’m a dealer in MO I do Lease Here Pay Here. It’s a great program for both dealers and consumers. I’ve also done BUPH in MO dealers don’t collect sales tax. I include oil services and state inspections in lease payment You’re only taking about how this screw customer. NOT EVERY Dealer screws customers Come on Lucky. How come your slamming dealers who do this? I do my lease through Northland for 48 months and at end I sign title over to customer. I got 3 people doing this. 2 make monthly payments and one every 2 weeks.
New way of dealers to screw people again and again and again
You think the Porsche 911 market is about to drop?
In Arizona, all used and new cars are a rip-off!
Did you just say sell your tool box and buy lift? 🤯 are you a mechanic 👨🔧???
@@boxer8657992 having a lift is more important than having a fancy toolbox. You can buy a cheap toolbox and then just make sure you have a lift that will make you more money.
@@LuckyLopez777 yes. That makes sense. Sell expensive tool box and then buy lift and cheap tool box. I don’t like expensive tools. I think they are waste of money.
Buy a used car under 10k, get liability only, if it needs a grand or two repairs, will still come out ahead. My two ford focus with liability only is 420/yr for both.
Some people refuse to believe the first rule of economics, TANSTAAFL (There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch). There are reasons why success takes hard work, smart planning, and sometimes a little luck and why one should doubt get-rich-quick schemes and prices or profits that are too good to be true. People hate to hear unpleasant facts that pop their pipe dreams; but this is a good example of Prov. 27:6 "Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful." It hurts less to hear hard truths than the pain that comes from comforting lies.
Yea, should be ashamed taking money from them and making this video, lesson learned the hard way, one less subscriber 😢
I buy and sell cars why would i be ashamed lol. people always ask how to buy repos without a dealers licenses and this his how to do it. if you want to be negative go for it. Unsubscribe .
Can you expend on what do you mean when you say: “For regular people” !
We have several of these used lease companies in Texas
NO fluff! I'm literally taking notes. A good friend tried to explain all this to me before. I'm glad you took the time to. Much appreciated!
If you're locked in a lease, I wonder the methods of shifting into a new lease program, if that's possible. Im so dumb and uneducated on this topic, I really have to pause this video every now and so often, just so i can take it all in. LOL. Thank you Lucky for being the man to break it all down for us, brother!
Can i get a dealer license at 18?
At this point rent-a-center might become a new player in the auto market Also why is nobody talking about how fugly and cheap the Lucid Air looks. Its atrocious. That stupid toyota crown wrap-around trunk thing is dumb, and brushed/matte silver 2-tone makes it look like a second-hand Nissan kicks. AND its overpriced. Nobody can afford a 35k car, why are you trying to be the 12th car in the garages of millionaires who are too busy buying real estate to be into cars right now? STOP MAKING LUXURY EVs. Just make them run and drive, make them cheaper, and make them BETTER than ICE and you wont be able to make them fast enough.
Despite these many disadvantages and obstacles in this business, I am extremely determined to create a successful exotic car rental. I appreciate the insight and wisdom.
This is hilarious! So many dealerships are so disorganized that they have to shut down because they don’t have any redundancies like you do? Doesn’t give me much confidence in the car industry.
Lucky, I'm interested in getting into a C8 one of these days. I feel like that car is kinda sorta in a weird gray area though where it's just expensive enough that the people who can buy them will buy them although I've seen they have been coming down in price quite aggressively. Is it safe to assume that despite the flex culture people who can't afford spending $1500/mo on their C8's and combined with people who can legitimately afford one, that they'll level off around these prices we are seeing now? I would be purchasing used most likely.
Useful tip for those leasing, at least Toyota allows you to call them and extend the lease at the same rate for an additional 6 months at the end of the lease. Which could be useful for some.
@@travelbugbnaq yes, it also reduces the residual “buy out”. I did a 6 month extension with Honda twice just to see what was going to happen with a job prospect and other “timing” issues.
Leasing a used car???? what?
A NEW way to fleece🙄
I have heard so many people getting screwed with auto leases. I have always avoided it. Leasing is the most expensive way to own a car.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but when leasing a car, you're not an owner of it, and the title never transfers. And the ONLY way to own it is to fully pay for it.
I have done 3 new car leases. I have been happy with all of them. Before the lease is done, I take the car to CARMAX and find out what it is worth. If CARMAX offers me less than the lease pay off, I hand it back to the Leasing Company. If CARMAX gives me more than the pay off, I may buy it and keep it or see if there is a better deal out there. I think you can make some good money on leasing a used car. Particularly used BMW's and Audi's. The key is to have the right lease price, term, and car in good condition. Then what you have to have is a no Sh-t great service contract that covers everything for the lease term. If the service contract and the cost of the lease works then you have a managed risk contract with all of the features of a new car lease at an affordable monthly cost.
I once leased a car back in the 90s. I ended up getting money back because I had replaced the tires, and turned it in with lower miles than I was allotted.
Bad decor. Tough to watch with that thing hanging over your shoulder, Lucky. Love your content but paaaaah-leeeez, future vid’s, change backdrop. TIA!!!
Thank you for your time, wisdom, and transparency!!
Leasing is the most expensive way to obtain a vehicle. - Dave Ramsey
An $11000 phone call? Don't these dummies read anything before signing? Lease a used EV? Maybe right after Hell freezes over! Ha! Another great video, thank you!
It ain't no joke if you don't pay that note.
B.M.W Bring more wallets
You do a great job. I have learned so much from you and others. I always find you have good knowledge and make it simple to understand. Thank you.
Good video some sound advice that most ppl refuse to listen to!
This is why I hate dealerships, because of all the hidden fees. They'll advertise I car online for $25k, but when you get there to do all the paperwork the car ends up being $33k. This is complete bs. I feel like if they focused on the volume of vehicles they can sell rather than the profit they could potentially makes more money in the long run. Plus you gain a bigger customer base, and a happier customer base since they aren't being tricked into paying for bogus stuff like nitrogen air filled tires for $395. It would actually be more enjoyable buying a car. Cheaper to buy a car. And I think a lot more people would come in to trade in their vehicles a lot earlier than they normally would have mainly because it's a more enjoyable experience.
but lease to own has always been a thing.. its called a lease buy out...... and you know all those numbers upfront as well. hmm why are we trying to invent another scam.. sounds like it to me. gotta reel in all those 200 score ppl with 4 repos and 2 evictions. in the past 6 months alone :)
We are going to start buying and daily driving classic cars. They are SOOOOO much cheaper than modern cars now and easy to repair yourself. Wife always wanted a C3 Corvette, so we can find a really nice one for $10,000 or less. Dont care about mileage or matching numbers on a daily driver.
If you are hands on and know what you doing it is the way to go.
Instead of firing 14,000 people to save 1bln, wouldn't it make more sense to fire one person & save 55bln?
Booyah 👊🏽 😁 👍🏽 🇺🇸
I took my $60,000 car to the dealer for its 1 year service and the monkey that worked on it damaged 3 wheels costing me 3k. If you want people to respect your profession don’t fuck up their cars they trust you with.
I did personal used car leasing in the mid-late 90’s. If the residuals and money factors are there and the consumer understands the terms why not?
From $10k to $110k that's the minimum wage of profit return every week I think it's not a bad one for me, now I have enough to pay my bills and take care of my family.
I'm Celebrating a $30k stock portfolio today. Started this journey with $6k. I have invested on time and also with the right terms now I have time for family and life ahead of me
Please how do I go about it, am still a newbie on investment trading and how can I make profit.?
How ..? Am a newbie in crypto investment, please can you guide me through on how you made profit?
Finding yourself a good broker is same as finding a good wife, where you get less stress, you get just enough with so much little effort at thing.
I will say give Mrs Gillian Sara Sheeran a try and you will be happy you did.
The only way to fix affordability crisis is not leasing a used car, just cut that damn price!!!
